LVSG: 630A | BESS Capacity: 860 kWh | Customers: 1,901. QGIS-based LV distribution network design, GIS load analysis and field delivery support.
Engineering design, electrical modelling and field delivery support for a 10-site solar hybrid mini-grid programme in Kano State. The work connects QGIS-based LV network planning and customer/load data with ETAP verification, construction supervision, digital field records and as-built documentation.
Engineering Scope
Develop LV distribution network designs for 10 solar hybrid mini-grid sites using QGIS from field survey data, KML coordinates and customer locations.
Translate GIS layouts into practical feeder routes, pole positions and network plans aligned with site access and construction constraints.
Perform load analysis and ETAP network modelling to support feeder planning, LV riser sizing and electrical design verification.
Support construction delivery including pole erection, conductor stringing, accessories installation, inspections and technical issue resolution.
Coordinate progress and quality verification across the programme, with direct field-management responsibility on selected sites.
Implement digital data collection through Epicollect5 for customer registration, project monitoring and engineering records.
Coordinate field verification and preparation of as-built network information for completed works.
Delivery Outcomes
Completed engineering design and modelling support for 10 solar hybrid mini-grid distribution networks covering approximately 67.1 km of planned LV network.
Supported a 10-site generation portfolio comprising approximately 2.04 MWp of solar PV, 6.635 MWh of battery storage and 1.47 MVA of backup generation.
Connected QGIS network planning, load analysis, ETAP verification and field execution into a single design-to-delivery workflow.
Supported distribution infrastructure serving more than 18,000 registered customer connections across the programme.
Improved field monitoring, verification and as-built documentation through structured digital data collection.
